About the Firm:

Our client, a VA / DC law firm with an excellent reputation, specializes in community association and civil litigation. Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Community Associations Attorney to join their dynamic team in their Richmond office. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in litigation, preferably representing community associations. This role requires excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills to effectively manage a diverse caseload and provide superior legal counsel to clients.


Description:

Candidates must have 2 - 5 years’ experience and strong academic credentials. Prior litigation or community association experience is a plus. Key Responsibilities:

- Provide legal advice and representation to homeowner associations (HOAs), condominium associations, and other community associations.

- Draft, review, and amend governing documents, including bylaws, covenants, conditions, and restrictions (CC&Rs), and rules and regulations.

- Represent clients in dispute resolution, including mediation, arbitration, and litigation.

- Conduct meetings with boards of directors and attend association meetings as needed.

- Advise clients on matters related to property management, board governance, and homeowner rights.

- Develop and implement strategies to resolve conflicts between associations and their members.

- Stay updated on changes in relevant laws and regulations to ensure compliance and provide proactive legal advice.


Qualifications:

- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

- Active member in good standing with the Virginia State Bar.

- Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in real estate law, with a focus on community association law preferred.

- Proven experience in drafting and negotiating legal documents.

- Strong litigation skills and experience representing clients in court.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to manage multiple clients and projects simultaneously.

- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

- Familiarity with state and federal laws governing community associations in Virginia.

- Commitment to providing high-quality legal services and building lasting client relationships.
