The firm is a respected owner and operator of multifamily assets across the sunbelt region.Job DescriptionReporting to the Vice President of Asset Management the Associate / Senior Associate Asset Management will be an organized, detail?focused candidate with sound knowledge of accounting and financial concepts to support external investors, the transactions/acquisitions team and senior management. The ideal candidate must be able to multi?task, work well under deadlines with high attention to detail and require minimal direct supervision. The position will interact with many business functions as well as senior and executive management. Selected responsibilities include:Work closely with acquisitions/asset management teams and JV partners to measure business performance for each asset including monthly review and monitoring of variance reports, valuations and projectionsConduct regular variance analyses to ensure property performance is consistent with business plan and budgetDrive, manage, and maintain on a quarterly basis valuation and asset level review processes including in-depth portfolio reporting and analyticsDevelop and maintain financial models to forecast leasing activity and other portfolio?level metricsReview and abstract various legal documents including leases and operating agreementsPrepare ad hoc strategic financial analyses in support of asset and senior managementInteract with several departments including Property Management and Legal on various asset and portfolio management projectsMaintain monthly reporting packages deliverable to senior leadersMPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law. MPI encourages applications from minorities, women, the disabled, protected veterans and all other qualified applicants.The Successful ApplicantThe ideal Associate will posses the following qualities:Bachelor's degree in economics, finance, real estate or related field4+ years experience in a finance or data focused role in a multifamily owner/operator or similarUnderstanding of basic real estate concepts, valuations, DCF, advanced Excel skills and understanding, a mustAbility to work with large data setsHighly motivated self-starter who works well in flexible environmentFor the Senior Associate level our client would expect 5-7 years of experience.What's on OfferStrong basic salary plus bonus potential with great benefits roughly in the $100,000 to $125,000 range. This an opportunity to join a small but quickly growing team.
