Job description

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for preventative maintenance activities, troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing plant equipment and systems to ensure maximum plant performance. This position has a strong emphasis on mechanics, piping, welding, and hydraulics. All maintenance department employees assist in the development and implementation of plant safety programs and policies. **Relocation assistance available from Iowa, Missouri, Minnesota, and Kansas**

Job Functions:

  • Perform expert troubleshooting, installation, routine maintenance, and repair of mechanical manufacturing equipment.
  • Have the ability to perform essential job functions outside of normal working hours.
  • Responsible for mechanical piping within the plant.
  • Demonstrate understanding of welding principles associated with stick, TIG, and MIG.
  • Responsible for reading and understanding mechanical and piping prints.
  • Demonstrate personal computer skills and use of mechanical programs.
  • Perform rotating machine alignment.
  • Have a basic understanding of electrical to assist Maintenance Electrical Technician.
  • Maintain facilities and grounds in clean, well-kept, and efficient operating manner.
  • Possess project management skills. Participate in plant projects when needed.
  • Assist process operators when necessary.
  • Assist Maintenance Manager with control of parts inventory.
  • Responsible for awareness and implementation of all local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Complete all tasks assigned by the Maintenance Engineer.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all records and company matters.
  • Support all company safety, health, environmental, and quality programs and policies.
  • Maintain a high level of service and work performance and support and promote a positive and cooperative team environment that fosters creative problem solving and shared learning.

Requirements:

  • High school graduate or GED required
  • Technical degree or certification in related mechanical field preferred
  • 3 or more years of experience in maintenance operations
  • Industrial or process maintenance required
  • Expertise in mechanical, piping, welding, and hydraulics
  • Detail-oriented with strong communication, organizational, time-management, and troubleshooting skills.

This is a direct hire opportunity with a wage of $47.83 per hour and offers a full benefit package along with relocation assistance.
