SHEET METAL FOREMAN

Don Kennedy Roofing Company, two-time National Roofing Contractor of the Year, is looking for new additions to our team for the position of Sheet Metal Foreman. This position plays an integral role in Commercial Low Slope Metal Department. The Foreman manages their crew of low slope metal installers, and assists with hiring, onboarding, training, dispatch, and troubleshooting of repairs. Building and fleet maintenance, as well as other branch duties, are additional responsibilities.

This position is an in-person role based out of our office in downtown Nashville. Our business hours are 7:30-4:00, but this role may require hours outside of this time frame.

Essential Responsibilities and Functions:

  • Communicates HR, Safety, and other messages to all metal installers in their crew.
  • Manages metal installers, including HR related responsibilities like annual reviews, disciplinary notes, etc.
  • Works with the Superintendent on hiring, onboarding, and new hire training.
  • Trains metal installers as requested by the Superintendent and helps other metal installers with problem shooting.
  • Monitors and ensures proper maintenance of the building, rental fleet, and vehicle fleet.
  • Ensures that their crew of metal installers follow all safety guidelines.
  • Serve as backup and assistant to the Superintendent for other duties as required.
  • Handle other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • The individual in this position should be personable, a problem solver, reliable, ethical, intelligent, and able to adapt to the forces around him/her—customers, suppliers, co-workers, and other vendors.
  • High school diploma
  • 5+ years experience in architectural sheet metal roofing
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Forklift Certification
