Job Title: Software Quality Assurance Engineer Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Software Quality Assurance Engineer to perform on-site software validation and system integration testing within vehicle or test bench environments. This role involves first-level issue triage, gathering detailed logs, and collaborating with remote engineering teams to debug issues across multiple domains. Responsibilities Perform software validation and system integration testing on vehicles or test benches. Conduct issue triage and problem reproduction, collecting detailed logs and test evidence. Collaborate with engineering and software teams to analyze and debug issues. Verify software corrective actions on bench and in vehicle before official release. Support test case execution and validation of new software versions. Define new test cases based on customer use cases. Maintain and update test documentation, issue reports, and traceability matrices. Interface with the customer's technical team to communicate issue status and test results. Assist in integrating new software builds into test vehicles and benches. Contribute to the continuous improvement of test processes and workflows. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. 2-5 years of experience in software testing, integration, or QA in automotive or embedded systems. Strong understanding of CAN communication protocols and related tools. Experience with issue tracking and requirements management systems such as Jira and DOORS. Hands-on experience with vehicle or bench testing, log analysis, and software flashing/updating. Solid analytics and troubleshooting skills. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Additional Skills & Qualifications Familiarity with embedded software development and debugging in C/C++ or Python. Knowledge of AUTOSAR, diagnostics (UDS), and ECU architecture. Experience with continuous integration environments and software release processes. Exposure to vehicle-level integration or OEM validation environments. Basic understanding of Vehicle Entry and Authorization Systems. Knowledge of wireless communication technologies such as NFC, BLE, and UWB. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Newark, California. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $43.00 - $63.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
