Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Developer with extensive experience in C++ and ERP systems to join our team. This role involves working with a legacy ERP system that is customized specifically for the steel industry, including mini-mills. The ideal candidate will also have strong experience in EDI within a manufacturing context, as well as proficiency in desktop programming with C# and SQL Server/Sybase.

Key Responsibilities

• ERP System Development & Support:
• Contribute to the continued development, process improvement, feature enhancement, and support of a highly customized ERP system tailored for the steel industry.
• Focus on the order-to-cash process, ensuring efficient handling of customer orders, company requests, and payment collections.
• EDI Integration:
• Develop, maintain, and support EDI systems to ensure seamless data exchange between manufacturing partners.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to EDI transactions.
• Technical Development:
• Utilize C++ and C# to develop and enhance desktop applications and ERP functionalities.
• Work with SQL Server and Sybase, including creating and maintaining stored procedures and triggers.
• Process Improvement:
• Analyze existing processes and workflows to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions that enhance system performance and user experience.
• Client Interaction:
• Interact with clients to gather requirements, understand their needs, and provide technical solutions.
• Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to changing requirements.
• Support and Maintenance:
• Provide ongoing support for ERP and EDI systems, addressing and resolving issues as they arise.

Qualifications

• Technical Skills:
• Strong proficiency in C++ and C#.
• Extensive experience with SQL Server and Sybase, including stored procedures and triggers.
• Solid understanding of EDI systems, particularly in a manufacturing environment.
• ERP Experience:
• Proven experience with ERP systems, especially those related to the order-to-cash process.
• Familiarity with legacy ERP systems, particularly those customized for specific industries such as steel manufacturing.
• SPC Knowledge:
• Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC) in an industrial context is a plus.
• Interpersonal Skills:
• Personable with the ability to effectively gather requirements and communicate technical solutions.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think on your feet.
