Role: Snowflake DBALocation: Cincinnati, Ohio Onsite, 4 days work from office TECHNICAL SKILLSMust HavePythonVery Strong Snowflake ExperienceVery Strong SQLSnowPro CertificationPosition Overview Key ResponsibilitiesPerformance & OptimizationAnalyze and optimize complex SQL queries and workloads to ensure efficient resource utilization and cost management.Monitor and tune Snowflake compute resources (warehouses) for optimal performance.Implement best practices for data modeling, partitioning, clustering, and indexing.Security & GovernanceManage user roles, access controls, and data masking policies to ensure compliance with internal and external security standards.Collaborate with InfoSec and compliance teams to enforce data governance policies.Audit and monitor data access and usage patterns to detect anomalies and ensure data protection.Database Hygiene & MaintenanceMaintain clean and organized schemas, tables, and views across environments.Implement automated routines for purging obsolete data, archiving, and metadata management.Ensure consistency and reliability of data pipelines and integrations with Snowflake.Collaboration & LeadershipWork closely with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to support data initiatives.Provide guidance and mentorship to junior DBAs and data team members.Stay current with Snowflake features, updates, and industry trends to continuously improve platform capabilities.QualificationsProven experience as a Snowflake DBA or in a similar role managing cloud-based data platforms.Strong proficiency in SQL and performance tuning techniques.Deep understanding of Snowflake architecture, including virtual warehouses, storage layers, and caching mechanisms.Experience with data security frameworks and compliance standards.Familiarity with ETL/ELT tools and data integration frameworks.Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.Preferred SkillsSnowPro Certification (Core or Advanced).Experience with automation tools (e.g., dbt, Terraform).Knowledge of other cloud platforms (AWS) and their integration with Snowflake.Scripting experience in Python or Shell for administrative tasks.
