The SUB AIT program supports the In-Service Attack Submarines Program Office (PMS 392) under Program Executive Office Attack Submarines (PEO SSN) to achieve optimal submarine operational readiness by providing production support, component repairs and technical support to accomplish repair, maintenance, removal/installation, troubleshooting and associated testing for the Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) submarine maintenance availabilities. The efforts associated with this program will help restore and maintain the material condition and modernization of the fast attack submarines of the United States Navy.Requirements:High School Diploma/GEDMust be a US CitizenMust be able to obtain and maintain Secret ClearanceAt least 2+ years' experience performing repair work on nuclear submarinesPipefitter Non-Nuclear (TSD P1): Fabricate, install, modify and repair piping/hoses in the shop and aboard ship. Layout, template, target, bend, assemble, install and prepare pipe for welding or brazing. Make various kinds of pressure joints within the piping system.Pipefitter Non-Nuclear Piping System Testing (TSD P3): Inspect and test piping as required to certify systems. Check out, troubleshoot, groom, modify, repair and test ship's installations. Hydrostatic test, component checks, adjustments, alignments and operational tests on piping systems. Remove valves and install jumpers, blanks, test equipment and pumps to ready system for preliminary air test, hydrostatic test and flushing.Pipefitting Tasks:TSD P1 (Non-Nuclear Pipefitting): Cut existing and new piping joints, end prep existing and new piping joints, fit-up existing and new piping joints, complete required documents and QA forms, disassemble mechanical joints, inspect mechanical joints, and assemble mechanical jointsTSD P3 (Non-Nuclear Piping System Testing): Install test gear and test pumps for testing, inspect piping to certify systems, troubleshoot and test ship's components, communicate safe execution of test, and restore system to normal ship's conditionPipefitter Skill Requirements:TSD P1 (Non-Nuclear Pipefitting): Trained, qualified, and have experience with all tasks and components similar to that outlined for TSD P1. Experience performing SUBSAFE work IAW NAVSEA 0924-062-0010 L/R (Submarine Safety Requirements Manual) and hold PNS SUBSAFE qualification. Steam Plant Cleanliness trained and qualified IAW NAVSEAINST 9210.36F as implemented by Corporate Naval Shipyard Uniform Industrial Process Instruction 5050-450A.TSD P3 (Shipboard Testing): Trained, qualified, and have experience with all tasks and components similar to that outlined for TSD P3. Experience performing SUBSAFE work IAW NAVSEA 0924-062-0010 L/R (Submarine Safety Requirements Manual) and hold PNS SUBSAFE qualification.
