MDD helps insurance companies, independent adjustment firms, multinational corporations, government entities, and individuals calculate the true economic damage of claims or disputes. MDD is looking for a Staff Accountant to serve as an essential supporting function of the accounting team. The ideal candidate will have a sound technical background in accounting/finance, possess strong communication and analytical skills, and can work independently.Key ResponsibilitiesReview reports and schedulesParticipate in strategic planning sessions with accounting teamInput data and analyze invoicesAssist clients with conducting interviews during the financial investigation to accurately identify all parties involvedPerform forensic research to trace funds and identify assets for recoveryVerify claim to source documentsEvaluate insurance claims and economic damageWork closely with senior staff on litigation cases, first party property, business valuationsAssist in the preparation of accounting reports from financial findingsEnsures compliance with state and federal lawsResearch and other tasks assigned by supervisorSkills, Knowledge & ExpertiseBachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or FinanceEntry level accounting experienceActively pursuing CPA designationAbility to speak multiple languages, a plusWilling to travel internationally and potentially for extended periods of timeMust have a valid driver's license and reliable vehicleMust have demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environmentPossess a professional demeanor and be a positive thinkerMust be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, OutlookJob BenefitsMDD offers a competitive benefits package including PTO, sick pay, 401k match, medical, dental, vision, life, and disability.About DaviesWe are a specialist professional services and technology firm, working in partnership with leading insurance, highly regulated and global businesses.
