We are looking for reliable, enthusiastic, and fun teachers to teach play-based Spanish in Portland The most important quality is that our teachers LOVE working with children. Job Outline


We're looking for passionate individuals to join our teaching team for the 2024-2025 school year. Once selected, you'll start your training journey right away. This includes observing seasoned teachers in action and engaging in both online and face-to-face training sessions with our skilled trainers.


Our training program is carefully designed to fully prepare you for success in our program, blending practical experience with expert guidance every step of the way.


You will be leading a lively class of up to 12 children, spending an hour together filled with fun and play. You'll guide them through 45 minutes of singing, movement, and exciting activities, with a 15-minute snack break to relax and connect. It's all about creating joyful, memorable experiences for the kids


Hours

  • This job is part-time, about 5 hours a week. It's a great job for teacher's aides, retirees, students, and people with morning shifts at other jobs.
  • During the school year, instructors teach one class daily in the afternoon. Most classes start between 2:00 PM and 3:30 PM and run for one hour.
  • Here is the schedule:


Pay

Training pay: $16.00/hr

Teaching pay: $26.00/hr

Bonus pay: If performance is excellent at the end of each trimester, you will recieve a bonus as if you were getting paid $30.00 for every class taught.


Our ideal teacher would be:

  • Committed until June 2025
  • Reliable, trustworthy, organized, and extremely prompt.
  • Fluent or at least nearly fluent in both Spanish and English.
  • Able to work independently with groups of young children.
  • A team player.
  • Able to travel from one school to another.
  • Must pass a background check.
  • Must respond to texts and emails in a timely manner.
