Read further to learn how you could help make great things possible not only in your community, but around the world.In the role of Civil/Structural Construction Inspector, we'll count on you to:Conduct and document observations of construction as it progresses for buildings and facilitiesConduct inspection of electrical, mechanical/HVAC and site civilMonitor, record and inspect progress on construction projectsCoordinate field materials sampling and testing, including concrete slump and air testing, casting concrete test cylinders and performing in-place soil compaction testingReceive general supervision from the Senior Inspector who reviews work while in progressPerform other duties as neededPreferred Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree or a comparable combination of education and experience.Knowledge of construction inspection of major transportation/infrastructure projects for public agencies, such as PANYNJ, MTA/NYCT, NJ Transit, NYCDDC, NYCSCA are required.Excellent organizational and communication skillsPE license in New York or New JerseyOSHA 30-hour trainingACI Concrete Special Inspection and ICC Structural Steel and Bolting certificationsPreference given to local candidatesRequired Qualifications:High School diploma or equivalentExperience in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)Strong written communication skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamThis position typically requires successfully passing drug-screening procedures prior to being hired; thereafter subject to random and cause drug and alcohol testingAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a mustWhat We Believe HDR is our company.
