Evans-Graves is currently seeking a Civil Engineer Intern (E.I.) / Engineer In Training (E.I.T.) with 0-4 years experience to join the firm's New Orleans office as a valued member of our team. The successful candidate will work on a wide variety of projects for both private and public clients. What You’ll Be Doing As A Member Of The Evans-Graves Team

The successful candidate will work on a wide variety of projects including:

  • Design of transportation, drainage, water, sanitary sewer, and flood risk reduction projects for both private and public clients across the Gulf South
  • Familiarizing yourself and incorporating knowledge of federal, state, and local design codes and manuals
  • Working in a team environment on multiple projects
  • Assisting project engineers with the preparation of engineering reports
  • Assisting project engineers with the design / production of construction plans and permitting
  • Increasing your understanding of and familiarity with real-world engineering principles under the mentorship of Evans-Graves' expert engineering staff


What You’ll Need To Have

  • B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year university
  • Engineer Intern licensure in Louisiana or ability to obtain
  • Windows / Microsoft Office experience including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project
  • Knowledge of CAD based civil design software (AutoCAD Civil 3D or Microstation), HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, PondPack, LADOTD HYDR, EPA SWMM software knowledge is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to be a brand ambassador for the company and positively represent Evans-Graves in all interactions with both clients and members of the public
  • Self-motivation and personal accountability
  • Ability to travel locally and attend meetings with clients, as necessary
  • Ability to multi-task across concurrent projects in a congenial team environment
