Basic Function:
The primary role of the Estimator is to:
• Estimate labor and material costs for Residential Homebuilding per building plans and specifications.
• Generate house quantity takeoffs using estimating software. • Generate bid items and establish house budgets.
• Work in tandem with purchasing department to ensure all job cost are accounted for.
• Coordinate all related estimating functions to ensure Company objectives are achieved.
• Review cost variances in job budgets.
• Be familiar Company cost management system.
• Preform other duties as assigned.
Scope:
The Estimator must demonstrate:
• Knowledge of residential home building techniques and materials.
• The ability to read and interpret building plans.
• Knowledge of scopes of work and building code for residential home building.
• Proficiency in software usage to include KOVA, 2D Estimating and Excel.
• Excellent communication skills and work well independently and in a team environment
• The ability to manage tight deadlines, promptly address changes without disrupting schedules, and managing high volumes of work with minimal direct supervision.
• (PREFER) National residential builder experience in an estimating role.
Qualifications:
• At least 2 years of experience working in the Residential Homebuilder industry
• Education Level-Bachelor’s Degree in related field
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug and background screening
• Ability to work a five-day work week
• Proper business attire and personal hygiene required to represent company in a professional manner
