Senior Project Manager – Heavy Civil | Houston

A well-established construction firm in the Houston area is seeking an experienced Senior Heavy Civil Project Manager to manage and deliver large-scale infrastructure projects. This role involves overseeing medium to large projects with complex scopes, including structures, roadways, and related operations. The Senior Project Manager will report to the Area Manager and is responsible for ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess extensive leadership experience, strong stakeholder management skills, and expertise in safety compliance, contract negotiations, and risk management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the transition of projects from estimating to field execution, reviewing contracts, budgets, schedules, and agreements.
  • Maintain professional relationships with project stakeholders.
  • Manage project billings and ensure timely payment collection.
  • Develop and monitor CPM schedules, ensuring procurement is coordinated.
  • Assist in estimating, proposals, and negotiations for selected projects.
  • Prepare Monthly Progress Reports with accurate cost projections.
  • Review and execute change orders, supplements, and budget adjustments.

Construction Execution:

  • Review and interpret project plans and specifications to ensure compliance with all requirements.
  • Oversee the scheduling and coordination of resources to maximize efficiency.
  • Monitor self-performed work and adjust labour and equipment resources as needed.
  • Maintain and regularly update project schedules, including a detailed ten-day plan, and ensure clear communication of timelines.
  • Manage material orders and allocations to support seamless project delivery.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in the construction industry, with a focus on heavy civil, major highways, or aviation projects.
  • Experience with TxDOT and Design-Build projects is essential.
