Lockheed Martin Integration & Airworthiness Team ManagerLockheed Martin is seeking a first-line manager to lead the Integration & Airworthiness team within the Vehicle Systems directorate. The successful candidate will set high performance standards, maintain professionalism, and demonstrate continuous learning and analytical thinking. This position reports to the Senior Manager of the Electronics, Integration and Labs team. The manager will oversee a functional engineering team responsible for Air Vehicle Design Engineering integration, across the broader Vehicle Systems engineering team, for various internal & external customers. This team provides a range of services to all Aeronautics Lines of Business including full-time deployed Engineering support to the Factory, Flight Line, and Sustainment Operations. This team cultivates expertise in all areas of safety-critical requirements decomposition and verification required for airworthiness certification. Projects cover scope from initial design through prototype build-up and qualification testing, enabling delivery of reliable products for flight test and aircraft integration.Primary responsibilities include driving the development and implementation of functional standards within Integration & Airworthiness competencies. The manager will establish and coordinate processes, plans, and procedures to ensure timely, accurate, and focused engineering support across the enterprise. Additionally, they will develop and execute workforce competency strategies, managing and advancing a skilled team specializing in Integration & Airworthiness.This position is expected to: Grow the VS Integration & Airworthiness competencies to meet program demands Manage the Technical workforce, planning and staffing including manpower estimates/forecasts/planning to support programs Identify, mitigate and build critical/fragile skills including planning, managing and prioritizing training and competency development to ensure Knowledge Continuity Lead development of a Digital Thread from Requirements thru Fabrication to Verification (utilizing MBSE/Cameo/Siemens tool suites) Forecast and manage indirect & direct budget for the team Have strong understanding of Earned Value Management (EVM) fundamentals and perform OBS management role responsibilities Coordinate with Chief Engineer's Office and Engineering & Technology Executive Leadership Close issues in a structured, timely and collaborative mannerSome domestic and international travel may be required. Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.Basic QualificationsBachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, equivalent discipline considered) Experience managing budget, schedule, and technical scope and associated EVM techniques Experience developing processes, plans, and schedules Technical lead or team leadership experience Systems engineering experience Project engineering/leadership experience Cross-functional collaboration skills US Citizenship and ability to obtain Secret ClearanceDesired SkillsEngineering experience within Integration & Airworthiness competencies Formal leadership experience Prior experience in one or more Vehicle Systems/Flight Sciences competency areas Formal CAM Experience Functional, Project or Program leadership experience in Systems Engineering as Applied to Air Vehicle Design & Development Technical expertise in Air Vehicle Design & Development for flight/safety-critical systems Experience in multiple areas of VS engineering or VS-related lines of business, especially those associated with Software Intensive Systems Knowledge of LM Aero Online Systems (VEMO, PDM, JDL, Tableau) Experience arranging and managing Tech Services support Experience conducting Structured Improvement Activities Strong executive and team level communication skills - both written and verbal Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships across organizational levels and entities Experience planning and forecasting resources (manpower, material, etc.) Strong organizational, planning and time management skills Technical problem-solving and strong analytical skills Ability to thrive in a dynamic and diverse team environments Ability to engage with all levels of management Experience building and leading effective teams Proficiency in operating in complex environments, building relationships, and meeting customer expectations Understanding of financial impacts of team decisions Microsoft Office Suite proficiencyThis position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.Lockheed Martin is an equal opportunity employer.
