Respecting and embracing these differences enhances Parker's position as the world leader in motion and control.The Sourcing Specialist will be responsible for all suppliers and service providers in a given commodity category for all sites in North America. The Commodity Specialist will be the primary point of contact for suppliers for topics including price and payment terms, contract reviews, escalations, business reviews and all other supplier management related topics. This position will directly report to the Division Sourcing & Procurement Manager.Responsibilities:Regularly reviews the performance of suppliers and executes action plans to meet KPI'sFinds, selects, and negotiates with suppliers based on internal customer requirements and best total cost of ownershipWorks with existing suppliers to develop and execute plans to achieve continuous improvement, quality, delivery, service and cost goalsEvaluates suppliers based on preferred supplier criteria of price, quality and delivery.Ensures purchases and capital expenditures are consistent with Division strategies and policiesPartners with internal customers to approve purchases and capital expenses through requisition systemAct as point of escalation for internal customers to assist with any supplier related opportunitiesAssist internal customers with expedited shipment as neededMust be able to travel domestically and internationally up to 10% of time.Education:4-year college degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or Materials Management or similar required1-3+ years purchasing or supply chain related experience preferredQualifications:Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills for effective interface with all internal and external contactsPossess analytical and technical skills required to understand business practices and recommend proper process automation opportunitiesStrong organizational and problem solving skillsAbility to negotiate in business-to-business scenarios a bonusMust have functional understanding of cost accounting and adapt to practical applicationMust be an innovator and embrace lean enterprises principles and practicesFamiliar with applicable Free Trade Agreements and ability to complete customer request for agreements a plusParker is an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer.
