ABOUT THE ROLE 

This position is full-time, exempt, and is a supporting role in the Donor Development department. This position reports to the Senior Director. The Development Coordinator position is a multidisciplinary position supporting various fundraising activities including donor prospecting and research, stewardship coordination and management, event sponsorship, grants and database management, workplace giving, and other activities related to revenue generation for CureSearch

You’ll advance our mission by identifying potential funding sources, such as individual donors, corporations, foundations, and government grants, communicating with donors regularly, expressing gratitude for their support, and updating them on the organization's activities and impact. They ensure that donors feel valued and connected to the organization's mission, which can lead to continued support and potentially larger contributions in the future.


RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES 


•Conduct prospect research and prepare briefs & reports on individuals, foundations, corporations, and other sources of revenue as directed by the Senior Director of Development

•Identify and qualify new prospect leads for private and corporate foundations

•Manage an active grants calendar with application and reporting deadlines, ensuring timely submission to funders

•Coordinate and draft grant proposals in collaboration with the Senior Director of Development

•Manage an active stewardship calendar for individual, corporate, and foundation funders

•Coordinate and draft stewardship reports, Legacy Fund reports, and other donor reports as needed

•Responsible for managing America’s Charities giving program & similar workplace-giving applications

•Identify, qualify, and solicit sponsors for CureSearch’s annual scientific meeting (PEDS), volunteer Summit, and other events as needed

•Coordinate and draft sponsorship proposals for PEDS, Summit, and other events as requested

•Maintain prospect and donor’s records in NXT (CRM tool); generate and provide development reports as requested

•Monitor event recruitment and fundraising progress, analyze results, and make data-driven adjustments to meet event revenue goals.

•Collaborate with the internal event team to ensure engaging signature event experiences for volunteers, participants, and sponsors.

•Provide onsite and logistical support when needed.


QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

•Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (such as Nonprofit Management, Marketing, Communications, or Business).

•1-3 years experience in a nonprofit organization with a focus on development operations/fundraising

•Excellent attention to detail

•Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office programs and computer/office equipment operation

•Outstanding written and verbal communication skills

•Demonstrated knowledge of fundraising best practices for nonprofit agencies and organizations.

•Ability to proactively organize and coordinate activities with multiple deadlines

•Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

•Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.

•Proficiency in using fundraising software and tools
