Summary

The Finishing Floater position is responsible for ensuring the efficient finishing process of furniture. This includes meticulous preparation for finishing, with a keen eye for detail to perform touch-ups as needed.


Additionally, the position involves contributing to a collaborative team effort, ensuring that all tasks are completed within established deadlines. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of craftsmanship are key attributes for success in this position.


Description

  • Inspect and assess furniture to be finished ensuring quality standards are met
  • Align finishing processes with customer expectations and specifications
  • Clean and sand surfaces to ensure proper adhesion of finishing materials
  • Wipe, Spray, and perform touch-up on furniture pieces during production
  • Apply knowledge of water-based stains to achieve desired colors and effects
  • Communicate effectively to address any issues or challenges in the finishing process
  • Collaborate with the team to create a solution and adjustments to meet quality and production goals
  • Operate all tools in adherence to prescribed work methods, prioritizing safety and efficiency
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Key Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of industry experience in general warehouse environment, preferably in furniture finishing
  • Product knowledge of various finish products and application process
  • High School diploma or equivalent, preferred
  • Must be able to read and take direction in English
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to distinguish between subtle color variations to achieve desired results
  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment with varying noise levels, and wear appropriate hearing protection as needed
  • Walk approximately up to 10k steps per day
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to lift or move up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to bend, crouch, or stretch to access different parts of a surface
  • Must be able to use respiratory personal protective equipment, as needed
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities
