Base salary: $170k - 200k + Bonus & Benefits


Job Summary:

The Nurse Unit Manager oversees the day-to-day clinical operations of the assigned unit, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role manages unit staffing, fiscal responsibilities, and quality improvement initiatives. The Unit Manager also supervises the team, monitors service and utilization standards, and ensures optimal patient care and safety. This position may involve specific responsibilities for departments such as the Operating Room (OR) or Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR).


Key Responsibilities:

•Manage Daily Operations: Oversee clinical practice standards, staffing, payroll, budgets, and quality improvement initiatives for the unit.

•Ensure Compliance: Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local healthcare regulations, as well as departmental policies and procedures.

•Staff Supervision: Lead and develop a team of 20-60+ employees, ensuring performance standards and professional growth.

•Resource Allocation: Monitor personnel allocation based on changing patient needs and population, while identifying opportunities for cost savings.

•Quality Care Delivery: Supervise and ensure the highest quality of patient care, maintaining customer-focused service and cost-effective utilization of resources.

•Collaboration: Work with healthcare providers across units to ensure coordinated patient care across the continuum. Identify and implement best practices from other units.

•Risk & Safety Management: Oversee employee safety programs, human resources management, and risk management within the unit.

•Address Patient Concerns: Investigate and resolve patient or family concerns regarding patient care.


Qualifications:

•Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience.

•Minimum of 2 years in a leadership role (e.g., charge nurse, preceptor, quality improvement champion).

•Demonstrated knowledge of quality improvement processes, clinical care delivery, staffing, and budgeting.

•Familiarity with the Nursing Practice Act, The Joint Commission standards, and other relevant regulatory requirements.

•Strong interpersonal and communication skills.


Education Requirements:

•Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) highly desirable.

•Graduate of an accredited nursing school.

•High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) required.


Licensure/Certification Requirements:

•Valid California Registered Nurse (RN) license required at the time of hire.

•Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

•Preferred: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification, depending on the specific department.
