WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

The Sales Planner (Walmart/Sam’s) plays an integral part of the planning process for the Walmart/Sam’s Club Team and VP of Sales (Walmart/Sam’s Club). Your priority will be to ensure the Simply Good Foods Company and its brands align successfully with Walmart/Sam’s Club strategies and goals. You will synchronize cross-functional, internal account teams with internal business teams (i.e. Marketing, Sales Operations and Finance). Planning for our team will include support and delivery of new item launches, trade promotions, in-store merchandising, deduction management, promotional plans, trade shows, sales aids and shopper marketing programs. In addition, the Sales Planner is primarily responsible for the development and implementation of Trade Marketing and will take the lead on new item innovation development and execution, as well as, sales initiatives and themed national event coordination.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide weekly and monthly updates on in-store/eCommerce programs by creating and optimizing trackers to identify what's working and drive business growth.

• Manage and implement internal promotional planning and forecasting; Communicate with sales team on trade marketing sales requests, promotional contracts and trade rate management

• Collaborate with the Walmart/Sam’s Club Team Sales Analyst to provide post-promotional analysis to optimize and improve promotional planning

• Submit monthly Retail Objectives, work cross-functionally with VP of Sales and our Broker Partners to maximize in-store sales initiatives

• Support the eCommerce business in the development of a robust OMNI channel strategy including forecasting for eCommerce items, working closely with key stakeholders on the eCommerce and Creative Services teams, as well as Walmart Connect and Sam’s Club MAP Team

• Assist the Category Manager during key line review periods by organizing data, preparing presentation materials, creating new items, attending meetings, and documenting next steps

• Collaborate with VP of Sales, Operations, and Marketing in creation and implementation of in-store display features

• Input promotions and provide backup within our internal planning systems (Anaplan and FlintFox)

• Support Accounts Payable/Receivable with deduction management, post audits, disputes, and repays

• Partner with Sales Operations and Marketing on special projects and/or to update trackers

• Coordinate with Walmart, Sam’s Club, McLane and Core-Mark to create new items and provide forecasts by item

• Provide trade show support and participate in special projects, as needed


KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:

• Strong Knowledge of CPG forecasting and business analysis as well as principles and methods for trade promotion planning and selling of CPG products

• Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Anaplan (or similar forecasting), Flintfox (or similar Trade Promotions input tool), and internal sales reporting

• Strong skills in written and oral communication, analytical skills to problem solve, project management skills, and self management skills (prioritize, plan and organize own work)

• Self-motivated and adaptable to constantly changing priorities with a strong attention to detail

• Ability to incorporate customer, brand, and sales team objectives and strategies into category plans

• Strong interpersonal skills to interact with Executives and team leaders across the company


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• BS/BA degree, required; Emphasis in Business, Marketing or Finance, preferred

• CPG experience, required Sales Planner, Walmart/Sam's

• Minimum 2 years’ professional experience of Sales Planning and/or Trade Marketing with Walmart/Sam’s Club

• Experience working with Nielsen and/or IRI syndicated data

• Experience in Trade Spend Budget Management, highly desired • Experience at Walmart or in the retail industry, preferred

• Experience with key applications in Walmart Retail Link, Sam’s Club Madrid, Atlas, Nielsen OVT, Item360, Sam’s Club Item Data Management (IDM), preferred
