Job Description – Investment Specialist

The Investment Specialist is primarily responsible for supporting our team in delivering investment services for our clients. The successful candidate will participate in research, analysis, and reporting with a focus on trading. The role is a Senior Associate level position with opportunity for growth.

Responsibilities:

• Trading activities include reviewing and executing investment model trades, rebalancing client portfolios, and managing cash positions.
• Review client accounts along with senior advisors to ensure assets are deployed according to the appropriate investment strategy and allocation.
• Prepare investment presentations, internal research reports, and client specific performance reports.
• Participate in research and analysis related to third party investment models, various asset classes, individual ETFs and mutual funds.
• Work closely with senior advisors to develop and implement investment strategies.
• Communicate professionally with advisors, team members, and external partners by phone, email and written communication.
• Timely & accurate completion of requests, providing clear follow up as needed.
• Adherence to policies and procedures for compliance and data security.

Competencies:

• Analytical and data-driven individual with strong problem solving skills.
• Ability to apply concepts such as statistics, modeling, percentages, and ratios to practical solutions.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting or a related field.
• A minimum of three years’ experience in the financial services industry, preferably working in investments, trading, data, or business analysis.
• Previous experience working with investment trading and reporting tools (e.g. Black Diamond, Tamarac, Schwab)
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Positive and professional communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to balance multiple competing priorities.
• Strong computer proficiencies and ability to adopt innovative technology.
• Comfortable working in a team-based environment and individually.
• Strong ethics with dedication to maintaining high levels of confidentiality with client and firm information.
• Openness to feedback and coaching.
