Must Haves:

• 1+ years of experience working in a lab setting (preferably chemistry) – can be in school
• Experience recording detailed observation and data from experiments
• Maintains safe work practices, keeps equipment neat, clean and in safe operating condition, and maintains good housekeeping standards.
• Basic personal computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases are require
• Strong communication skills are required, as the position involves working in multi-functional project teams, with consumers and 3rd parties.
• Bachelor's Degree or Associates degree in Chemistry

Plusses:

• Relevant formulating experience in consumer packaged goods industry

Day-to-Day:

Insight Global is looking for an Associate Scientist to join a large consumer goods company in Trumbull, CT. As an associate scientist, they will be part of a cross functional team, planning and performing laboratory assignments in the development of product formulations, measurement of physical properties, validation of performance, and analysis of competitive products. This person will be drawing conclusions based on data, as well as propose and direct certain next steps in development plans. On a day to day, the associate scientist will be planning and scheduling project tasks related to certain lab experiments, recording detailed observation and data from experiments performed, as well as keep lab notebook records current and in good order as a working legal document. This person will be running standard and non standard chemical, physical, or application tests to obtain data to evaluate composition and performance of competitive offerings. They will be checking and maintaining inventories of raw materials and supplies, maintaining work spaces, and must be able to follow safety lab protocols.
