Adjunct Faculty, Religious StudiesThe Department of Religion and Philosophy seeks instructors to teach undergraduate courses in religious studies on a rolling, per course basis. Possible courses include our first-year course, The Nature and Experience of Religion, and upper-level courses in the Catholic intellectual tradition, non-Christian traditions, and the relationship between religion and other cultural domains. For consideration, candidates must have completed a Master's degree in Religious Studies or Theology. Excellence in and commitment to teaching is the key factor for consideration. This is an in-person, on-campus, non-remote position.Responsibilities:Prepare syllabus for assigned course.Provide instructional content for the assigned courses.Ensure active participation and engagement of students.Support a diverse and inclusive learning environment.Adhere to the university's mission and values, submit grades on time and otherwise comply with related requests from the chair.Qualifications:Successful applicants will have a master's degree and ideally a doctorate in the Religious Studies, Theology, or a related discipline.Salary Range Based on Experience:Instructor $1477.28 per creditAssistant Professor $1526.25 per creditAssociate Professor $1575.65 per creditProfessor $1625.04 per creditFounded in 1853, Manhattan University is an independent Catholic Lasallian institution located in Riverdale, NY that embraces students of all faiths, cultures, and traditions.
