Your Day-to-Day:

• Precision Estimation: Review project plans, specifications, and scope documents to develop detailed cost estimates for heavy highway and civil projects.
• Comprehensive Project Oversight: Estimate all aspects of civil construction, from grading and excavation to utilities, bridges, asphalt, and concrete paving.
• Cross-Team Collaboration: Work alongside different departments to ensure estimates align with overall project goals and are ready to hit the ground running.
• Cost Management: Track project budgets closely and address any potential overruns before they escalate.
• Safety First: Champion safety at all times, ensuring all safety protocols are followed on-site.
• Clear Communication: Keep everyone informed—from clients to subcontractors—about project status, deadlines, and key updates.
• Leadership & Problem Solving: Build strong relationships with clients and subcontractors, addressing any challenges with swift and effective solutions.

What You Bring to the Table:

• Heavy Civil Expertise: You have hands-on experience in self-performing heavy civil work like grading, underground utilities, paving, and bridge construction.
• Experience Matters: 3+ years of civil construction estimating, with a proven track record of success.
• Educational Background: A Bachelor’s in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field is preferred—but equivalent field experience is also welcome.
• Analytical Mindset: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to create detailed, accurate estimates.
• Tech Savvy: Experience with software like HeavyBid, HCSS, or Bid2Win is a big plus.
• Government Contracting: If you have experience with government contracts and compliance, that’s a huge advantage.
