Growing together.The Sr Director, AI Solution Sales is a senior leadership role within the Optum AI team in Optum Technology. This position is accountable for driving the overall strategy, execution, and growth of externally facing AI solutions across healthcare markets. As a key leader, you will oversee a team of solution specialists and sales professionals, ensuring alignment with enterprise objectives and client transformation goals. This role combines strategic vision, executive engagement, and operational excellence to accelerate AI adoption and deliver measurable business impact.You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the U.S. (or located within West Region) as you take on some tough challenges.Primary Responsibilities:Strategic Leadership & Revenue GrowthDefine and execute the go-to-market strategy for AI solutions across payer, provider, and life sciences segmentsOwn revenue targets and pipeline performance at a portfolio level, ensuring consistent growth and profitabilityEstablish performance metrics, monitor KPIs, and drive accountability across the sales organizationPartner with senior executives to shape commercialization strategies, pricing models, and scalability plansTeam Development & ManagementBuild, lead, and mentor a high-performing team of AI solution sales professionalsFoster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvementProvide coaching and enablement to ensure consultative selling excellence and deep client engagementExecutive Client EngagementServe as a strategic advisor to C-suite leaders navigating AI-driven transformationLead executive-level discussions to articulate the business impact of AI in clinical, operational, and financial contextsOversee key client relationships, ensuring satisfaction, retention, and expansionMarket Intelligence & InnovationMonitor competitive landscape, emerging technologies, and regulatory trends to inform strategic decisionsInfluence product roadmaps through market insights and client feedbackChampion adoption of enterprise-approved AI tools to enhance productivity and innovationCross-Functional CollaborationPartner with product, engineering, and delivery leaders to ensure solution readiness and operational scalabilityDrive alignment between sales, marketing, and commercialization teams for unified executionSupport enterprise-wide initiatives to expand AI capabilities and accelerate market penetrationYou'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:Proven experience in leading enterprise sales organizations, preferably in SaaS, platform, or services-based solutionsExperience in commercializing emerging technologies, including pricing, packaging, and scaling AI solutionsDeep understanding of healthcare workflows, payer/provider dynamics, and digital transformation strategiesFamiliarity with AI concepts (eg, NLP, predictive analytics, automation) and ability to translate them into business outcomesProven solid executive presence with exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skillsDemonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment*All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter PolicyPay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $90,000 to $195,000 annually based on full-time employment. This role is also eligible to receive bonuses based on sales performance.
