This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm (This role supports both homecare and in-patient unit settings) The Flexible Resource Registered Nurse (RN) plays a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, compassionate care to patients receiving hospice services in both homecare and inpatient unit (IPU) settings. This dynamic and adaptable position is designed to support fluctuating staffing and patient care needs across the hospice continuum. The Flexible Resource RN provides clinical expertise and patient-centered care while ensuring continuity and responsiveness within the interdisciplinary hospice team. This RN will serve as a floating resource which may include covering homecare visits, admissions, symptom management, and urgent needs in both the home and inpatient environments. What are the essential duties day to day? Maintains flexibility and adaptability to serve the organization in nursing roles as required according to the needs as assessed by the Director, Clinical Support Services. Implements and follows a plan of care in accordance with the patient's expressed wishes and delegates care and interventions in full compliance with the Nurse Practice Act and organizational policy, procedures and standards of care. Assesses physical, environmental/safety needs of patient. Develops and coordinates plan of care in collaboration with patient, significant others, and interdisciplinary care team members to focus on holistic needs of patient in order to assure satisfactory outcomes for patient. Applies critical thinking and a deep understanding of hospice philosophy to provide care as appropriate in settings as assigned. Rotates as needed between geographic areas or IPU units based on staffing and census needs as instructed by Director, Clinical Support Services or covering leader. Acts in a professional manner to collaborate with physicians, other health care providers, and interdisciplinary team members and make timely reports of pertinent information to appropriate health care professionals. Accurately and timely documents nursing assessment, interventions, and updates to Plan of Care according to the nursing standards of this organization. Supervises nurse aides and LPNs in the home and documents supervision according to organizational policy. Provides caregiver with appropriate instruction to support safe care of the patient in the home and in accordance with the current plan of care. What are the Job Requirements? Graduate of accredited school of nursing - Associates Degree; BSN preferred Current North Carolina Registered Nurse license 2 years of clinical nursing experience required, 1 year of hospice experience preferred Certification in Hospice & Palliative Care desirable Valid NC driver's license, current automobile liability insurance at limits required by the agency, and reliable independent transportation Here is what RNs that work here have to say I love the atmosphere here.
