This role will take place at our facility in Sumter, SC. The Material Planner will ensure material availability and achieve inventory targets through complete materials management (Stock, AP, Kanban, Consignment, etc.) for the assigned area and/or commodities while adhering to Eaton's high-quality standards. The expected annual salary range for this role is $68,000 - $99,000 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.What you'll do:Inventory & Material ManagementEnsure stock items are ordered, expedited, and available to keep production lines running smoothly.Maintain optimal inventory levels and manage stockouts through proactive actions and root cause analysis.Collaborate with material coordinators and storeroom teams to manage stocking levels, resolve discrepancies, and control invoices on hold.Supplier & Process CoordinationManage supplier relationships and coordinate with Purchasing on new, obsolete, or discontinued parts to avoid production impact.Avoid premium freight by planning ahead and securing proper approvals when necessary.Place purchase orders within cycle times and ensure planning parameters are accurately maintained.Operational Excellence & CommunicationAttend production meetings to align on material status and schedules.Document processes and drive continuous improvement initiatives.Adhere to safety protocols, including 5S, and take on additional responsibilities as assigned.Qualifications: Required (Basic) Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required from an accredited institution. At least 2 years of manufacturing or materials processing experience. No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate area of the Sumter, SC facility (50-mile radius) will be considered for this position. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position.Preferred Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years of manufacturing, planning, or materials processing experience. Prior experience with Microsoft Office, Power BI, AS400, MAPICS, VISTA, and DMM computer programs.Skills: Proficient experience using a computer, including competence in Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel) required. Must be able to multi-task and balance various demands while achieving goals. Demonstrate a collaborative style and work effectively in a diverse environment. Able to learn from past experiences and apply learning to current situations. Self-starter capable of working with minimum supervision and capable of solving various problems as unusual circumstances arise through interfacing with other departments. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Understanding of Kanban and other material control methods. Ability to deal with both internal and external suppliers and/or customers in a professional manner and manage changing schedules. Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in teams across plant and corporate entities. Self-motivated and results oriented. Strong organizational skills.
