The Manager of Risk Management is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the organization’s insurance comprehensive insurance and risk management strategy. This role ensures that the Company assets, operations, and workforce are adequately protected from potential liabilities and losses. The Manager will oversee all aspects of corporate insurance policies, claims management, risk analysis, and regulatory compliance, working closely with internal teams and external insurance providers to optimize coverage and minimize costs.
Responsibilities
- Develop, manage, and maintain a comprehensive insurance portfolio, including property, casualty, liability, cyber, and specialized manufacturing-related policies.
- Evaluate current insurance coverage and identify gaps or redundancies, recommending policy adjustments as needed.
- Lead annual insurance renewal processes for all lines of coverages:
- Ensure Company maintains proper insurance coverage with required limits, at the most competitive premium renewal levels, while optimizing retention levels.
- Prepare underwriting submissions and coordinating site inspections.
- Prepare necessary presentations required to market the renewal efforts to the underwriters.
- Manage Company's two broker structure:
- Negotiate terms, conditions, and pricing to minimize annual fees
- Ensure brokers are providing superior support for insurance program
- Lead annual budget process setting budget targets for premium spend as well as professional services & expenses required to support insurance activities.
- Oversee the claims process:
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting, investigation, and resolution.
- Serve as the primary liaison with insurance carriers, adjusters, and legal counsel on complex claims.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable insurance laws, regulations, and contractual obligations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of insurance policies, endorsements, and certificates.
- Prepare and present reports on insurance and risk management performance to executive leadership.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging risks, and regulatory changes to align insurance strategies with business goals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in corporate insurance, risk management, or a related role, preferably in the manufacturing sector.
- Professional certifications such as ARM (Associate in Risk Management) or similar certifications are highly desirable.
- Deep understanding of insurance products, risk management practices, and claims processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex risk scenarios.
- Excellent negotiation and relationship management skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and risk management software.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
- Travel as required to meet business needs.
