Job Overview:

Maintains and improves equipment and support systems, with the primary focus being on safety and equipment reliability.


Responsibilities:

  • Safely and effectively maintains all equipment and support systems based on a thorough understanding of the manuals, drawings and operating procedures; collaborates and takes into account input from other associates as needed.
  • Under the general direction of the Engineer, the Controls Electrician is responsible for the integration, programming, and troubleshooting of Programable Logic Controllers (PLC), Process Automation Controllers (PAC), Human Machine Interfaces (HMI), Servo Systems, Robotics, and Industrial Networks for systems to support productivity and/or quality improvements for process and packaging equipment.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of associated technical documentation and support technician training and development processes.
  • Lead or provide support of focus improvement projects.
  • Coordinates work with outside service providers.
  • Adheres to policies and procedures in carrying out maintenance assignments achieving excellence in timeliness, quality of work, documentation, inspection and communicating skills.
  • Responsible for following all relevant regulations (e.g. FDA, OSHA, EPA, etc.)
  • Troubleshooting of various PLC and networking systems.
  • Complete preventative maintenance on electrical, control, and networking systems.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation of supported systems.
  • Provide support for new equipment installations.


Requirements:

  • Knowledge and experience in trouble shooting logic malfunctions.
  • Knowledge and experience in programming, reading and writing logic.
  • Knowledge and experience in testing the efficacy of installed programs.
  • Experience with RS logic.
  • Knowledge and experience with Siemens and Allen-Bradley processors.
  • Experience in reading wire diagrams.
  • Knowledge and experience with controls and instrumentation function.
  • Self-motivated and team- oriented with the ability to work with minimal supervision and limited direction.
  • Can accommodate non –routine work schedules, and be able to respond to call-ins.
  • Demonstrates excellent personal organizational skills.
  • Uses initiative.

Qualifications:

  • Technician training as electrician, electronics, or controls technology.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair PC related issues down to the component level to include touch screen displays, hard drives, CD ROM drives and NIC cards. Ability to repair and/or replace components and subsequently load, configure, and parameterize both hardware and software as it may relate to industrial, process control PC’s and their related applications.
  • 5 years of relatable work experience in manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in small cross functional groups, deliver effective communication, meet deadlines, and lead quality/process improvement teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated quality/process improvement capabilities.
  • Knowledge of and ability to maintain technical documentation and drawings
  • Mechanical aptitude, math and computer skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in completing GMP documentation.
