Archaeologist Technician

Flexicrew Technical Services is seeking multiple Archaeological Technicians located in the Baton Rouge, LA area. This will be a 3-4 month contract working 40+ hours per week with 40-75% travel.

Essential Duties:

Working under the supervision of staff, candidates will provide assistance with project tasks at all levels including fieldwork (survey, testing, data recovery, and monitoring), archival research, technial report writing, data collection and compilation.

Requirements/Skills:

• B.A./B.S. in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a closely related field
• Previous field experience in CRM project environments
• Possess a working knowledge of standard excavation methods, demonstrate attention to detail, and be able to maintain accurate field records
• Be able to traverse overgrown areas and/or difficult terrain with up to 40 lbs. of equipment
• Be able to work consistently in open spaces under variable weather conditions
• Able to travel and work in the field for periods up to 10 days at a time
• Have a valid driver's license with a clean record and a cell phone
• Ability to use verbal and written communication to listen, communicate effectively, and work cooperatively with crew members and supervisory staff
• Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required
