Job Description: Release Manager

Overview:

The Release Manager will implement and manage release processes for code across development, test, and production environments. Responsibilities include managing environments, data refreshes, upgrades, and patches, as well as planning and coordinating team testing schedules to avoid conflicts. The role requires tracking progress of testing against schedules, creating implementation and deployment plans for features, bug fixes, and infrastructure changes, and identifying and managing risks and dependencies. Effective communication with stakeholders and coordination of releases with internal and external teams is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and manage release processes for code from development/test through production environments.
  • Manage environments, data refreshes, upgrades, and patches.
  • Plan and manage team testing schedules across environments and teams, preventing conflicts.
  • Track progress of testing vs schedules in test environments.
  • Create plans and schedules for implementing and deploying features, bug fixes, and infrastructure changes across all environments.
  • Identify and manage risks and dependencies, and communicate them to stakeholders.
  • Develop mitigation and contingency plans for identified risks.
  • Coordinate releases with internal and external teams and manage release readiness and Go/No-Go reviews.
  • Communicate changes/outages and their status to stakeholders.
  • Maintain artifacts, calendars, procedures, dependencies, and communication records.
  • Attend CAB meetings to discuss release schedules and identify dependencies.
  • Develop dashboards and reporting tools to provide visibility into timelines, status, and quality.

Requirements:

  • Strong project management and communication skills.
  • Experience working across the organization with business and development teams.
  • ServiceNow experience and an Agile background are preferred.
  • Strong database experience (SQL, Oracle, etc.) is desirable.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps and JSON is highly preferred.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to build relationships and effectively work with stakeholders.

Additional Information:

  • The role will heavily focus on data conversions, including group migrations involving various types of data and specific product/internal data codes.
  • Standard working hours: Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM.
  • Onsite presence required on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
