Software Development Manager leads Information Technology (IT) operations and provides development and leadership to IT staff. The Director of IT plans and supports IT projects for all departments, evaluates and recommends computer hardware and software, and recommends and directs technical solutions. The Director of IT oversees management of the network, internet, and telecommunications administration, as well as develops and supports Window-based software applications.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop short term and long term IT opportunities; plan and manage progress.
• Prepare, document, and implement procedures for audit purposes.
• Create a business interruption plan.
• Manage, train, mentor, and develop direct reports to enhance both individual and department performance; ensure staff maintains continual compliance.
• Analyze business and recommend/direct technical solutions.
• Plan and support IT projects for all departments.
• Evaluate and recommend computer hardware and software for entire company.
• Direct day-to day operations including hardware integration, infrastructure design, and implementation.
• Direct the management of network administration, telecommunication administration, email and voicemail administration, desktop support, and help desk administration.
• Develop Windows-based applications for company products and internal projects.
• Design and maintain intranet web pages; partner cross-functionally as necessary.
• Develop short and long term technical goals for the organization.
• Support research and development software programming requirements.
• Ensure appropriate compliance measures are maintained within the department.
• Analyze and communicate trends; prepare reports for executive management as needed.
• Draft, implement, and revise all IT procedures, processes, and controls; continually work to improve all processes.
• Function as an active member of the company’s senior leadership team; support global business objectives.
• Ensure and maintain compliance with the company’s quality system requirements through training and adherence to policies, procedures, and processes.
• Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent years of experience; advanced degree or equivalent preferred.
• Eight (8) to ten (10) years previous IT experience (including programming experience in database, accounting, manufacturing, simulation, modeling, and numeric analysis); previous experience within a regulated manufacturing, medical, or pharmaceutical environment strongly preferred.
• Previous management experience, including oversight of multiple areas and direct reports.
• Expert working knowledge of IT concepts, theory, and generally accepted accounting principles and practices.
• Working knowledge of related regulatory requirements preferred.
• Excellent leadership, communication, problem solving, analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
