We make it easy for customers to affordably treat themselves with most items priced under $5 and a selection of extreme value items priced above $5.Responsibilities:Act as a point of contact for customersStock and merchandise displaysRecover merchandiseDisplay product knowledgeClean the storeOperate cash registerPerform other duties as assigned by the Store ManagerDuties and Essential Job Functions:Provide superior customer serviceMaintain a safe, clean and well-organized store environmentAssist in merchandising the storeComplete daily and weekly cleaning responsibilitiesOperate cash register and scannerFollow company merchandise processesClean the store, take out trash, dust and mop store floors, clean restroom and receiving room, and help set up sidewalk displaysQualifications:Ability to read and interpret documentsEffective interpersonal and oral communication skillsAbility to read and follow planogram and merchandise presentation guidesKnowledge of basic cash handling proceduresBasic mathematical skillsAbility to perform cash register functionsAbility to stock and display merchandiseWork Experience and/or Education:High school diploma or equivalent preferredWorking Conditions and Physical Requirements:Frequent walking and standingFrequent bending, stooping and kneelingFrequent handling of merchandise and equipmentFrequent and proper lifting of up to 40 pounds; occasional lifting of up to 55 poundsOccasional climbing (using ladder)Fast-paced environmentExposure to strong scents and fragrancesOccasionally exposed to outside weather conditionsOccasionally exposed to wet floor surfacesOccasionally exposed to household and industrial cleaning solutionsPopshelf is an equal opportunity employer
