Launched in 2019, Kim’C Market is a Brooklyn-based e-commerce company specializing in premium and natural Korean food, lifestyle products, and content. Our mission is to help people enjoy healthier lifestyles by providing an elevated Asian experience.


We import our products directly from farmers and artisans across the Pacific Ocean and also produce some of our products, such as freshly milled rice and bibimbap kit. As a consumer e-commerce business, we have experienced organic growth through our rich text and understanding of search algorithms, leading us to rank number one for important keywords. Kim’C Market is also a proud supplier for many fine dining and Michelin-starred restaurants. We have been featured in various media outlets, including Eater, NBC, and EO.   


Building on our success in the Korean vertical, we are now expanding to offer products and experiences from other Asian cultures.


Job Overview

The Marketing/Operations Associate position is a vital part of Kim’C Market’s growth. In this role, you will handle daily and weekly tasks while tackling a variety of challenging and exciting problems that significantly impact the business across multiple areas. You will gain valuable practical experience by working with external agencies and executing collaborations with other brands. This position sets you on the path to becoming a marketing or operations manager. You’ll Make An Impact By

  • Enhancing Customer Retention: Act as the frontline for maintaining customer loyalty. Monitor retention rates and key benchmarks, ensuring all customer inquiries are handled in line with our policies.
  • Leading Channel Management: Take a leadership role in managing various channels, including retail partnerships, trade shows, and pop-up events.
  • Maintaining Our E-commerce Site: Ensure our website is organized and user-friendly. Post written content and product descriptions, and oversee the site’s functionality, coordinating with the IT team for technical fixes.
  • Managing Cross-functional Tasks: Serve in a project/program management capacity on multi-functional initiatives. Provide clear communication, ensure visibility, and hold team members accountable.
  • Contributing to Special Projects: Occasionally participate in and contribute to special tasks and ad hoc projects. 


Qualifications

  • Experience: 2-4 years in a relevant role (e.g. startups, marketing agencies, or corporate planning).
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Canva, Photoshop and ChatGPT or other A.I. tools. 
  • Project Management: Demonstrated ability to effectively plan, execute, and monitor cross-functional projects end-to-end, often managing multiple projects simultaneously to ensure timely delivery and successful outcomes.
  • Attitude: A “no task is too small” mindset with a strong sense of ownership over your responsibilities.
  • Growth-Oriented: Highly coachable with a desire to grow professionally.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally and with external stakeholders.
  • Language Skills: Knowledge of the Korean language is a significant plus.


What We Can Offer You

Our compensation range for the Marketing & Operations Associate role is $60,000 to $73,00. We determine the final package by considering experience, applicable education and training, and relevant skills derived throughout our interview process. 


Other benefits include a direct mentorship from the CEO for at least three months, paid time off, performance bonus, CitiBike membership, 20% team discount, occasional family style company lunches, and access to startup events. An equity package will be offered at the end of the first year of employment.
