Mortgage Loan Originator Assistant IIThe Mortgage Loan Originator Assistant II answers phone calls and prepares files for processing and closing. This position orders appraisals, title works, and credit supplements. The MLO Assistant prepares marketing material, thank you notes, and gifts for closing and helps facilitate the application process for prequels, pull credit, gather approval conditions, and resubmit to processing and closing.Essential duties and responsibilities include: answering phone calls, managing calendar for MLO and appts/schedule closing appts; preparing files for processing and closing-submission and resubmission; ordering appraisals, title work, and credit supplements; preparing withdrawals & denials; marketing material, thank you notes and gifts for closing; ordering TRVs, SSN verification; maintaining closed loan files; obtaining conditions/documents from clients (or other sources) for loan processing/approval; completing required BSA/AML training and other compliance training as assigned; handling referrals from branch office and providing appropriate follow-up; analyzing financial data to determine creditworthiness; maintaining knowledge of available loan products, processing procedures and underwriting guidelines; taking borrower applications; utilizing communication and access of daily rates, credit reports and AUS responses and transmitting to processor; maintaining high levels of customer service while managing each applicant's and support staff's expectations; attending and participating in all lending meetings as required; performing any other related duties as required or assigned.Qualifications include: knowledge of a specialized field (however acquired), such as basic accounting, computer, etc. Equivalent of four years in high school, plus night, trade extension, or correspondence school specialized training, equal to two years of college, plus two years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read and understand simple instructions, short correspondence, notes, letters and memos; Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to read, analyze, and understand general business/company related articles and professional journals; Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to utilize common sense understanding in order to carry out written, oral or diagrammed instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving several known variables in situations of a routine nature. This position requires S.A.F.E. Act registration at the time of employment through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS). Intermediate: 10-Key. Basic: Accounting.
