SIC Grounds LaborerSouthern Industrial Constructors seeks Grounds Laborer for an ongoing site in the Wilmington, NC area. This role is for an ongoing assignment. Hired candidates will be considered for Benefits/Paid Time Off after 3-months.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Building chain link fences on industrial siteIndustrial painting on things around the facility.PCV pipe work in the plumbing department.Assemble furniture for the site and other carpentry duties.Bolt, nail, align, and block up under forms.Level earth to fine grade specifications, using pick and shovel.Mix concrete, using portable mixer.Smooth and finish freshly poured cement or concrete, using float, trowel, or screed.Mop, brush, or spread paints or bituminous compounds over surfaces for protection.Spray materials such as water, sand, steam, vinyl, paint, or stucco through hose to clean, coat, or seal surfaces.Apply caulking compounds by hand or with caulking gun to seal crevices.Grind, sand, or polish surfaces such as concrete or steel, using abrasive tools or machines.Perform variety of tasks involving dexterous use of hands and tools such as demolishing buildings, sawing lumber, dismantling forms, removing projections from concrete, mounting pipe hangers, and cutting and attaching insulating material.Observes SIC/Client Safety processes and procedures at all times.Maintain a safe, clean and organized working environment.Performs other duties as required.Physical Requirements/Job Site Requirements:Conditions include working in office, shop, busy traffic areas, freezers, and warehouses, with frequent exposure to dirt, dust, grease, oil, vibrations, and adverse weather conditions. Must be able to safely access all areas of property and buildingsMay be required to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 poundsMust be able to move in and around confined spaces and uneven areasMust be able to adequately hear and respond to voice commands and alerts from other employees, alarms and other job-related noisesMust be able to safely access all areas of property and buildingsMust be able to effectively use all required PPE equipmentStrenuous physical demands are required to safely perform the essential functions associated with this positionMust be able to safely operate all involved equipment and toolsMust be capable of standing for long periods of time, bending consistently, working on ladders, and in awkward body positions
