You'll oversee every aspect of clinical operations from quality assurance and compliance to client outcomes and staff development ensuring our agency continues to uphold its reputation for excellence, integrity, and compassionate service.Director of Nursing BenefitsCompetitive annual salary range of $100,000 to $104,000Weekly pay with direct deposit401(k) with Employer Match (Traditional or Roth)Paid Time Off (PTO)Formal week-long Clinical Training WorkshopSupportive Leadership and a Collaborative Team EnvironmentDirector of Nursing ResponsibilitiesClinical OversightProvides care and leadership as defined within the State of Wisconsin Nurse Practice ActConducts and oversees initial assessments, reassessments, and supervisory visits for skilled and non-skilled clientsPrepares and reviews Plans of Care (POCs), clinical notes, and documentation for completeness, accuracy, and complianceEnsures all assessments and POCs are completed and signed by RNs within required timeframes (e.g., 60-day certification cycle)Supervises, educates, and mentors clinical and caregiving staff, ensuring adherence to BrightStar Care's standards and policiesConducts competency validations and annual performance evaluations for all clinical team membersRegulatory & Quality ComplianceMaintains Joint Commission accreditation and continuous readiness by conducting audits, ESC submissions, and performance improvement trackingLeads Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) activities and quarterly quality meetingsTracks infection control, client satisfaction, and safety outcomes to identify trends and implement improvement plansEnsures compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and state/federal healthcare regulations.Collaborates with ownership and operations leadership to ensure the agency remains in "good standing" with all accrediting bodiesClinical Data Management & ReportingRegularly reviews ABS Clinical Reports (RN Compliance, Supervisory Visits, Incident Tracking, Task Not Completed, etc.) to monitor quality and regulatory adherenceReviews incident reports and develops corrective actions and trend analyses for leadershipMaintains organized and accurate clinical records for all clients, ensuring audit readinessSkilled and Non-Skilled Care ManagementOversees both skilled and non-skilled home care processes from intake to dischargeVerifies practitioner authorization, payer network status, and pre-authorization prior to case acceptanceEnsures timely scheduling of skilled visits (typically within 2448 hours) and reassessments for ongoing care needsMonitors supervisory visit frequency: every 60 days for skilled care, every 90 days for personal care, and every 6 months for companion care (or more frequently per state rules)Team Leadership & CollaborationLeads daily and weekly clinical meetings, including participation in office L10 and management meetingsWorks closely with the General Manager and Owner on staffing, recruiting, and performance reviewsAttends monthly Franchise Support Center Clinical calls and national Clinical BootcampSupports field staff and care coordinators with clinical guidance, escalation management, and client satisfaction follow-upDirector of Nursing RequirementsCurrent, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Wisconsin (Required)Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred; must have graduated from an accredited programThree (3) years of clinical experience, including at least one (1) year in a home health agency or healthcare facilityCurrent CPR certification and negative TB skin test or chest x-rayValid driver's license and reliable transportation with active auto insuranceExperience with Joint Commission compliance and QAPI programs strongly preferredDemonstrated ability to supervise and develop staff and maintain compliance with clinical and regulatory standardsExceptional assessment, organizational, and communication skillsPossess exceptional nursing assessment skillsExcellent customer service skills and ability to deal tactfully with clients, staff, and communityProven ability to build quality and implement improvements within the operationCandidate must have demonstrated alignment and experience in successfully living the BrightStar Care Core Values:Be Open and Honest: Approachable, Fun, Unflappable, Kind, EmpatheticServe with Passion: Help First, Confident Yet Humble, For the Greater Good, Make a Real DifferenceDo the Right Thing: Honest, Ethical, Tell the TruthDo What You Say: On Time, Finish What You Start, Accountable, Take ResponsibilityMake it Great: Continuous Improvement, Exceed Expectations, Bring Out the Best in Others, Detail-OrientedEqual Opportunity EmployerBrightStar Care is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
