This role is in Scottsdale AZ and is hybrid on site, so must be local and willing to go into an office 3 days per week.


We are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer with a robust background in infrastructure design, development, and continuous improvement across both physical and cloud environments. This role is critical in ensuring the security, stability, and support of our enterprise systems, including Windows Servers, Microsoft 365, and Identity solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive technology-based business goals and maintain key vendor relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strengthen Infrastructure Security & Stability

  • Enhance security and operational stability of both on-premises and cloud-based server systems, particularly in Active Directory, Azure AD, and Microsoft 365 environments.
  • Implement and monitor security initiatives such as MFA/SSO, RBAC, and intrusion detection, with success measured by reduced incidents and increased uptime.

2. Develop & Maintain IT Infrastructure Solutions

  • Oversee the continuous improvement of IT infrastructure to meet evolving business requirements, focusing on optimizing software and hardware solutions.
  • Document and standardize procedures to ensure scalability and consistency, facilitating easier adoption by junior team members.

3. Automate & Innovate IT Processes

  • Leverage advanced PowerShell scripting to automate routine administrative tasks, thereby reducing manual intervention and minimizing errors.
  • Drive the successful implementation and maintenance of Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions, ensuring secure and efficient endpoint management.

4. Lead Identity Management & SSO/MFA Solutions

  • Take ownership of the Identity Provider (IdP) solutions, ensuring seamless integration of new applications and maintaining compliance with security standards.
  • Proactively address and resolve major IT incidents, identifying root causes and implementing strategies to prevent future occurrences.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.

Technical Proficiencies:

  • 5+ years of experience in supporting and implementing Microsoft Servers.
  • Hands-on experience with SSO and MFA technologies (e.g., OneLogin, Okta, Auth0, Azure) to enhance security and streamline user authentication.
  • Expertise in Active Directory management, including troubleshooting, deployment, and policy administration.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 tenant management, with a focus on automation
  • Strong experience with Hypervisor environments for virtualization needs.
  • Ideally also have experience in AWS instance provisioning and troubleshooting.

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong scripting abilities with PowerShell.
  • In-depth knowledge of Azure, Active Directory, and Office 365.
  • A comprehensive understanding of identity management and security best practices.
