Medical Collections SpecialistJoin Butterfly Effects, a national ABA-informed therapy provider, as a dedicated Medical Collections Specialist. This role is vital in ensuring accurate, timely collection and resolution of outstanding payer balances while providing exceptional service to families across the country. As a Medical Collections Specialist, you will support our national collections efforts with a focus on accuracy, professionalism, and responsiveness. You will manage assigned accounts, research and resolve denied or underpaid claims, and maintain compliance with payer guidelines and HIPAA regulations.Key responsibilities include verifying client demographics, researching claims using insurance portals, reviewing clearinghouse activity, collaborating with the billing team, identifying issues, tracking payer trends, and responding to correspondence from payers. Qualifications require a high school diploma or GED, 1-2 years of experience in medical billing and/or collections, strong understanding of claim denials, excellent communication skills, attention to detail, self-motivation, and familiarity with ABA therapy or behavioral health billing preferred.Since 2005, Butterfly Effects has supported over 14,000 families through compassionate, family-centered ABA therapy.
