The Engineer will execute projects across Texas' geographical footprint working alongside staff in multiple locations. This position is open to candidates in JMT's Round Rock, Austin, or San Antonio offices.Essential Functions and ResponsibilitiesCoordinate with clients, external team members, and internal team members to ensure project completion and quality of deliverablesPerforms engineering designs and oversees/reviews the designs of junior staffAssures quality control and oversees the development of design computationsPerforms interdisciplinary reviews and coordination with the project teamManage and oversee the completion of Schematic Impact reports and PS&E projects for complex H&H designsLeads marketing efforts and client relations on behalf of JMTDirects RFQ production as the Project Manager/Task LeaderRequired SkillsUnderstanding of complex stormwater and drainage conceptsMicroStation and/or AutoCAD drafting experienceStrong oral and written communication skills for preparation of project reportsAbility to lead and serve as technical advisor in leading and training junior engineering staffAbility to build client relationshipsCandidates must be capable of working on multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced, team-oriented environmentRequired ExperienceBachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field from an ABET accredited engineering program.Texas Professional Engineer License or the ability to receive a License within 16 months of hire15+ years of experience, including 7+ years of experience in drainage engineering2+ years of design oversight and training junior staffExperience in TxDOT drainage design for TxDOT transportation projects (or other DOTs)Familiar with TxDOT Design Standards and TxDOT Drainage ManualExperience with GEOPAK Drainage and HEC-RAS roadway drainage and stormwater management designExperience Preferred2-D HEC-RAS, SWMM, ARC-GIS experience preferredErosion and sediment control design preferredEdwards Aquifer/TCEQ water quality design preferredFamiliarity with watersheds CLOMR/LOMR and FEMA floodplain mapping preferredWorking Conditions:Work is performed within a general office environment 95% of the time. Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.Field work is required on occasion where work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
