The Opportunity
Valvoline has a rewarding opportunity as a Security Manager. In this role, you will lead the Corporate Security Team, reporting to Valvoline's Chief Legal Officer. You will be responsible for evaluating, implementing, and overseeing security policies and programs to protect Valvoline’s corporate and store-level employees and company assets across the United States and Canada. This role conducts investigations, performs security assessments and surveys, and develops security plans to make Valvoline more secure.
How You'll Make a Difference
- Investigations - The Security Manager takes calls from Valvoline’s reporting hotline and investigates security incidents under the direction of Valvoline's Law Department, at times working on highly sensitive matters.
- Security Assessments - This position conducts security reviews of all facilities and completes detailed security vulnerability assessments. Working with local management, the assessment report identifies potential weaknesses in the facility's physical security. The Security Manager then provides solutions to minimize risk and work to better protect the facility.
- Event Protection - Working with Executive Management, Valvoline event managers, and hotel security, the Security Manager plans for and is onsite for company events providing security protection to all attendees. They are responsible for anticipating, assessing, and managing situations that could create risk for employees/executives.
- On-call Duty Officer - Responsible for taking calls from Valvoline’s reporting hotline requiring a security response. These calls include anonymous Hotline reporting, reasonable suspicion drug tests at company facilities, criminal events (burglaries, assaults, harassment), and customer complaints.
- Security Awareness and Training - Work with company managers to address the latest security trends and updates with company employees and cover any required training regarding the security of their facility. Security training and how to report incidents help give the security function better visibility into the company and help the security team better protect assets.
What You'll Need to Succeed
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in corporate security experience and loss prevention
- Experience conducting investigations in a retail security environment
- Experience working with an internal Law Department team and conducting legal investigations involving sensitive company matters
- Basic familiarity with Access Control Systems, CCTV and alarm systems, and their placement in a business
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience conducting interviews and investigations
- Ability to communicate effectively with members of other departments, including executive-level
- Ability to work with Law Enforcement and other agencies effectively and foster a good working relationship for Valvoline
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
