About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and versatile Full Stack Developer to join our dynamic team. The Full Stack Developer will be responsible for the entire development process of web applications, from the front-end to the back end, including databases. This role requires a deep understanding of both client-side and server-side technologies, with a focus on leveraging Azure Cloud services to modernize a portfolio of .NET and Python applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in application development, database management, and Agile methodologies. This position is hybrid (On-Site 2 days a week in Bethesda, MD).
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop websites and platforms, ensuring user interactions are intuitive and engaging.
- Build APIs and services to support application functionality.
- Leverage Azure Cloud services, including Azure App Services, Azure Functions, and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), to create scalable and high-performance applications.
- Manage databases, ensuring seamless integration and continuous interaction with NIH data sources.
- Design efficient and scalable database schemas.
- Create and maintain recurring data management jobs for optimal database performance and reliability.
- Maintain the responsiveness of applications, ensuring they remain functional and efficient.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues promptly to minimize downtime and ensure a smooth user experience.
- Collaborate with design teams, product managers, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and develop detailed design documents, including system architecture diagrams, data flow diagrams, and API specifications.
- Work closely with Agile teams, participating in regular sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives to ensure iterative progress and continuous feedback.
- Communicate effectively with clients, teammates, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and transparency throughout the development process.
- Provide clear and concise documentation of development processes, technical specifications, and system architecture.
- Take on leadership roles within the development team, guiding junior developers and contributing to strategic planning and decision-making.
- Implement DevSecOps practices, embedding security at every stage of the application development lifecycle to enhance the overall security posture.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, tools, and technologies to ensure the adoption of best practices and innovative solutions.
- Participate in regular innovation sprints to explore and integrate new technologies and methodologies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Full Stack Developer, with a strong portfolio of developed web applications.
- Proficiency in front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue.js).
- Proficiency in back-end technologies (Node.js, Python, .NET) and frameworks.
- Strong experience with database management systems (Azure SQL Database, Cosmos DB, Oracle, SQL Server).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and working in an Agile development environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Certifications in Azure Cloud services or relevant technologies.
- Familiarity with Azure Cloud services, DevSecOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience in government or healthcare IT projects.
- Familiarity with AI/ML technologies, low-code/no-code platforms, and event-driven architecture.
