Summary


The QA Manager will be responsible for ensuring that our products consistently meet and exceed the highest quality standards while leading a regulatory department to ensure compliance with industry regulations.


Key Activities


  • Quality Assurance Strategy
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive QA strategy aligned with the company's goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Establish and maintain quality control protocols for all stages of food production.
  • Conduct regular (semi-annual) audits and assessments of facilities
  • Regulatory Compliance:
  • Stay abreast of industry regulations and ensure the company's compliance with relevant food safety and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with regulatory agencies to maintain necessary certifications.
  • Team Leadership:
  • Lead and manage the QA team, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure a high level of competence and motivation.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and quality excellence within the QA team.
  • Process Improvement:
  • Identify areas for improvement in existing quality processes and implement corrective actions.
  • Work cross-functionally to optimize production processes for quality and efficiency.
  • Supplier Quality Management:
  • Collaborate with suppliers to establish and maintain stringent quality standards for raw materials and ingredients.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments of supplier facilities.
  • Product Testing and Inspection:
  • Oversee the implementation of product testing and inspection protocols to guarantee adherence to specifications.
  • Analyze test results and initiate corrective actions as needed.
  • Documentation and Record Keeping:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of quality tests, inspections, and corrective actions.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports to management on quality metrics and performance.
  • Crisis Management and Recall Preparedness:
  • Experience in developing and implementing crisis management plans and recall procedures, ensuring readiness to respond effectively in case of product quality issues.
  • Allergen Management:
  • Expertise in managing allergen control programs, including knowledge of allergen testing methods, segregation practices, and effective communication of allergen information to consumers.
  • Customer Complaint Resolution:
  • Lead investigations into customer complaints related to product quality and implement corrective measures to prevent recurrence.

Preferred Skills


  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills and a team player with a “problem-solving” attitude.


Educations & Experience


  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Possession of advanced certifications related to quality assurance and food safety, such as Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), Certified Food Safety Professional (CFSP), or HACCP certification.
  • 3+ years of relevant management and work experience.
