Experience a workplace where safety, efficiency, and meaningful personal connections define every day, enriching both our teammates and the communities we serve.Nucor supports its teammates with top-tier benefits like Medical, Dental, Vision, and Disability Insurance, 401K and Roth accounts, Profit sharing, Pay-for-performance bonuses, Paid parental leave, Tuition reimbursement, Stock program, Scholarships and more.Basic Job Functions:Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.Assist and direct customers to proper location to unload materialsInspect for the existence of flammable, radioactive, hazardous, and/or leaded materialsInspect materials for liquids, non-metallic and all other posted or non-posted materials that are non-acceptable (i.e., propane tanks, PCBs, batteries, etc.)Ensure that any materials not allowed are not left on Company propertyRemove and properly store any items or material occasionallyGeneral duties involving physical handling of materials, supplies, etc.Serve as primary back up for Scale Operator roleAssist others as neededOther duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications:Ability to work in a fast-paced, non-stop environmentMinimum of 1 year previous experience in general labor and/or customer serviceAbility to understand and carry out written and oral instructionsAbility to interact with a diverse customer baseAbility to work standing or walking for up to 12 hours per dayAbility to greet visitors, direct truck, and peddler traffic to proper locations for processingAbility to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency5 day work week-Mon-Fri 6:00am - 4:00pm, schedule could fluxuate to include overtime, and/or Saturdays depending on business needsFlexible to work off hours, weekends, holidays in an industrial environment which includes being outdoors in all weather conditionsPreferences:Bilingual preferredDetailed Selection Criteria:Complete work history is required to be considered for this position.
