Equity Research AssociatePrincipal's Global Equity team is searching for an Equity Research Associate to join our team. You will be able to gain broad exposure within Principal Global Investors, allowing you to develop a strong foundation in equity research, valuation, and portfolio strategy This role is designed to develop your skills as an investment professional while providing hands-on experience across key areas of the equity research process. Under the guidance of senior analysts and portfolio managers, you will contribute to the success of the investment team by conducting analytical work that supports informed, high-quality investment decisions in a specific sector. The intended start date for this position is May/June 2026.You'll be able to:Support senior analysts by researching public companies in an industry sectorAnalyze company, industry, and financial data to identify key performance drivers; build and maintain valuation models and forecasting tools to support investment decisions.Contribute to investment research by synthesizing market trends, macroeconomic factors, and company insights into clear recommendations and written reports.Develop an understanding of how our investment teams make buy, sell, and hold recommendationsParticipate in discussions with analysts and portfolio managers about investment ideas and strategiesWho you are:Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, Computer Science or a related fieldPrevious work experience or internships in investment managementKnowledge of financial statement analysis and accountingAbility to gather and synthesize research effectivelyFamiliarity with financial modeling and data tools (e.g., Bloomberg, FactSet)High level of proficiency with Microsoft ExcelSkills to help you stand out:Previous work or internship experience in equitiesProgress towards CFAGPA of 3.5 or higherStrong analytical, quantitative, and problem solving-skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsSalary range information: Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.Salary range (non-exempt expressed as hourly; exempt expressed as yearly): $67500 - $121200 / yearTime off program: Flexible time off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don't accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.Location(s): The role will be based in New York City. You'll work with your leader to determine the arrangement which best suits our needs.Compensation: When noting compensation expectations on your application, we ask for base pay.
