Pilot Plant Engineer

Full Time – Osage, IA

As a Pilot Plant Engineer, you’ll play a key role in advancing cutting-edge fermentation technology at one of the largest manufacturing facilities in all of Iowa. Your mission is to enhance current fermentation processes, scale up new innovations from R&D to production, and drive continuous improvements across the board. You’ll work with an energetic, cross-functional team in a high-tech facility.

Key Responsibilities:

• Optimize microbial fermentation processes (2L to 10,000L scale).
• Scale new processes from research to full production.
• Track, analyze, and improve yield and quality for all products.
• Innovate to improve process efficiency and cut costs.
• Lead troubleshooting efforts and implement solutions.
• Contribute to new product development and lean manufacturing projects.
• Provide hands-on support to production teams.

Qualifications:

• BS in chemical engineering, bioengineering, or a related field (M.S. preferred).
• Experience or strong interest in industrial fermentation.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of process optimization and Six Sigma is a plus.
• Willingness to work some off-shift or weekend hours as needed.
