I have an exciting opportunity with a utility scale solar developer who are searching for an Interconnection Associate

This role will part of a team who are responsible for the preparation and submission of interconnection applications for utility solar projects. You will create single line diagrams, site plans and layouts as well as identify points of interconnection.

The Interconnection Associate should have a general knowledge of the electrical grid’s generation, transmission, distribution, and protection systems from an engineering perspective. This includes the ability to do basic three phase power flow calculations (power triangle), per unit conversions and ohms law calculations.

Responsibilities:

• Preparation and submission of interconnection applications for solar projects
• Development of single line diagrams, site plans, and preliminary layouts
• Management of a large volume of project applications, monitoring progress and milestones
• Understanding of utility distributed generation interconnection processes
• Communication and liaison with utilities on an ongoing basis
• Management of interconnection contractual and payment milestones

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with a focus on power systems
• 0-4+ years of relevant industry experience or transferable skills
• Proficiency with transmission or distribution planning software
• Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational abilities
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
• Proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues, with a knack for developing corrective action plans
• Experience with AutoCAD is advantageous.
