Peace Rehabilitation Hospital We offer competitive sign-on bonuses for eligible full-time positions: $7500 for Direct Care Respiratory Therapists with one year of experience ($5000 for less than one year) who are licensed in South Carolina. After your application, our Talent Acquisition Team will contact you to discuss the exciting roles Prisma Health has to offer Accountabilities Independently perform respiratory therapy procedures in line with physician orders and Respiratory Care guidelines. - 20% Accurately obtain and analyze blood gas samples, reporting results promptly. - 10% Initiate, monitor, and manage all types of invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation effectively. - 20% Manage airways and related equipment efficiently. - 10% Document patient care procedures thoroughly and provide education to patients and families. - 10% Communicate effectively with the healthcare team, providing accurate reports and making recommendations. - 10% Adhere to infection control protocols and quality initiatives, ensuring proper cleaning and sterilization of equipment. - 10% Demonstrate responsible management of resources, including time and supplies. Supervisory/Management Responsibilities This role is non-management and reports to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive. Minimum Requirements Graduation from an accredited respiratory therapy program or eligibility for licensure in South Carolina, or a senior student graduating in the next three months. Required Certifications/Registrations/Licenses Must have a South Carolina Respiratory Care Practitioner license or be eligible for licensure, or be a senior graduating in the next three months. BLS certification is required. NBRC credentials must be maintained. Employees hired before June 2016 may be certified as Certified Respiratory Therapists. New hires from June 2016 onward must pass the Therapist Multiple Choice Exam at the Registered Therapist cut score and take the Clinical Simulation Exam within six months of graduation. Failure to pass the simulation exam during this period will result in termination. NRP and PALS certifications are required prior to independent work in the NICU and PICU at the Children's Hospital. Other Required Skills and Experience Strong teamwork, communication, computer, and organizational skills are essential for success in this role.
