Physical Security Specialist

Physical Security SpecialistSAIC is seeking an experienced Physical Security Specialist to support the customer's Office of Security. This individual will be required to operate in a diverse security environment. Duties include:Ensuring that all customer and industrial areas meet all DoD and IC standards for processing, handling and storing Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and Collateral classified information prior to formal accreditation as a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) or security areaEnsuring assigned security projects and programs comply with required security governance for physical, industrial, information, and other applicable security disciplinesManaging and overseeing the SCIF and Collateral Area lifecycle from concept, planning, construction, operation and management, mission conclusion, accreditation/certification, and final facility dispositionProviding oversight and audit key and lock, GSA container, and alarm testing and maintenance programs in accordance with applicable DoD and IC policy requirementsPerforming other collaborative duties that are influenced by physical security requirements and standardsCoordinating and liaising with the customer, members of the Department of Defense (DoD), the Intelligence Community (IC), and external offices to obtain information, develop solutions, keep abreast of current issues, and communicate with customers to safeguard classified information and customer programsManaging and operating associated customer service phone lines, email accounts and messages during core hours of operationsMaintaining active access and use as directed administration and security electronic software tools, databases and systemsMaintaining well organized, complete, current, and accurate records in accordance with agency policy and federal lawsManaging and maintaining data entries into community databasesPreparing and/or reviewing documentation supporting the SCIF accreditation process, compartmented area approval and secure area approval processAssisting the customer and its government and industrial partners in creating and completing security area paperworkCreating and presenting informational briefing and training sessions as indicated by government connected to the customer's Physical Security ProgramPreparing business and administrative support documents using electronic software tools for efficient and effective program and project managementProviding input and assisting with drafting and maintaining internal customer policy documents, standard operating procedures, instructional handouts and other forms of awareness and training materials for physical securityInterpreting security policy on matters pertaining to processing, dissemination, and controlling of classified materialsCreating, suggesting, generating, maintaining, and providing input to an assortment of administrative articles such as weekly activity reports, metrics, meetings, forms, briefings, US government response to official taskers and other official responses for required information, and official correspondence to sustain and advance the NGA Physical Security ProgramsVisiting government and industrial sites worldwide to inspect facilities, validate requirements are being met, and advise security programs at visited location connected to physical security and customer programsCreating trip reports which include inspection, recommendations, items requiring follow through and completion, pertinent travel related information, and acquired or produced threat assessmentsAnalyzing complex physical security issues and providing cost-effective recommendations to reduce or eliminate physical security risksUtilizing a variety of security and non-security concepts, principles and practices to analyze and resolve difficult and complex issues concerning the customer Physical Security ProgramsBeing an office custodian for access to related security and associated databases, networks and applications as needed to fulfill the mission of the Industrial and Physical Security DivisionQualifications:Active TS/SCI clearance is requiredAbility to obtain a polygraph5 years of experience in the physical security fieldDocumented experience conducting Physical SCIF inspection IAW ICD 705Familiarization of generating a Fixed Facility ChecklistDocumented experience writing security reports and creating supporting metricsDocumented experience conducting risk assessmentsExperience using Microsoft SuiteExperience providing security briefings/training to non-security personnel on aspects or components of a Physical Security ProgramAbility to sustain prolonged standing, walking and climbingDesired:Generating Security MetricsCertifications to include but not limited to: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC), Physical Security Certification (PSC), ASIS Certification (any), ICD 705 SCIF Course (government of commercial offering)Basic knowledge of use of an Intrusion Detection SystemFamiliar with the DoD Key and Lock Program (including safes for storage of classified information)Experience in other security
