Locations: Columbus, Southern Ohio, Piketon, and Wheeling, WV


CEG is seeking a Construction Manager to support our client in the Ohio and Wheeling, WV areas. Our client stands as an industry pacesetter, offering an array of premier planning, engineering, and architectural design services. Position Overview:

As a Construction Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing construction services for ground up construction in healthcare, higher education, municipal infrastructure projects, including sanitary and storm sewer systems, waterlines, pump stations, water treatment plants, wastewater treatment plants, and roadway improvements. You will manage projects for the Ohio Department of Transportation. Your primary responsibility will be ensuring that projects adhere to contract plans and specifications while maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance.


Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Possession of a Bachelor or Associates Degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Engineering, or Construction Management will be considered in lieu of a portion of the experience requirement.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience in water and wastewater treatment plant construction, demonstrating expertise in the field.
  • Proven experience working with municipal and large government entities.
  • Experience with Ohio DoT projects..
  • Proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Office software suite.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Exemplary work ethic with a genuine enthusiasm for continuous learning and professional development.


Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Directing and overseeing the activities of assigned engineers, technicians, construction observers, and administrative support staff engaged in construction administration and observation work.
  • Providing expert technical guidance to clients on construction-related matters, including claims, clarifications, and Requests for Information (RFIs).
  • Preparing and disseminating a variety of construction-related documents
  • Conducting comprehensive review of shop drawings and maintaining meticulous document control.
  • Establishing robust command and control protocols with project stakeholders, closely monitoring project schedules, maintaining clear communication with clients and contractors, and offering direction to both field and office personnel as required.
